Moulin Rouge! The Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre in London’s West End. Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor played lovers Satine and Christian in Baz Luhrmann’s original 2001 film. It’s the third film in the filmmaker’s ‘Red Curtain’ trilogy, including Strictly Ballroom and Romeo & Juliet. The Moulin Rouge! film picked up nine Academy Award nominations, and was the first musical in 10 years to receive a nomination for Best Picture.

The Moulin Rouge! film was always destined for the stage. The pre-Broadway world premiere engagement wowed audiences in Boston, and then packed up its bags and headed to the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Broadway.

The show’s music includes hits from some of the greatest artists ever. From the film’s iconic classics like Elton John’s “Your Song” and Nat King Cole’s “Nature Boy”, it also fuses contemporary classics in the famous “Elephant Love Medley”, which seamlessly incorporates over 20 songs by the likes of The Beatles, U2, Elvis, Dolly Parton, Queen and more into a single euphoric moment of theatre.

But Moulin Rouge London The Musical in the West End is more than a stage show, it’s a state of mind. The Piccadilly Theatre exterior now boasts a large, red windmill, in honour of the real Moulin Rouge Paris nightclub. Plus, there’s eye-popping costumes, energetic choreography, and a pop-fuelled score, making this show a feast for all the senses. Get ready to feel your Freedom, Beauty, Truth, and Love.
