The London Palladium Theatre box office offers Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat musical which returns to The London Palladium for a strictly limited run in summer 2020!

Dramatising the story of Joseph in Genesis, the musical has received major West End productions at the London Palladium and Young Vic Theatre.

Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat musical is based on the Biblical story of Genesis, which tells of Joseph being sold into slavery by his brothers. It features songs like “Any Dream Will Do”, “Close Every Door” and “Go, Go, Go, Joseph”.

Following a premiere at the Edinburgh International Festival produced by the Young Vic in 1972, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat musical transferred to the West End the following year. The next major production in London came in 1991 when Jason Donovan took what was to be a career-defining role at the London Palladium.

The cast recording from the production spent two weeks at number one, while the single “Any Dream Will Do” was also at number one for two weeks. Jason Donovan left the production, with Philip Schofield taking over.

Various touring productions have played London over the last few decades, but the last major run was in 2007 when a revival of the London Palladium production opened at the Adelphi Theatre. Lee Mead took the starring role after he won the BBC series Any Dream Will Do. Gareth Gates took over from Mead in January 2009, and the production closed that May.

Casting for the 2020 production is unknown, but the 2019 cast starred:

Jac Yarrow, a recent graduate from theatre school ArtsEd, makes his professional debut as the title character. He joins the ranks of other actors to have previously appeared in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat include Lee Mead, Jason Donovan, Donny Osmond, Philip Schofield, Stephen Gately and Joe McElderry.

Sheridan Smith takes on the role of the narrator in the production, who keeps the action flowing throughout the show. Her previous theatre credits include Funny Girl, Legally Blonde and Flare Path.

Jason Donovan also features in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat musical production, playing the role of the Pharoah. Jason played Joseph in 1991 at the London Palladium and went on to have a huge pop career with hits such as “Especially for You”, a duet with fellow Neighbours cast member Kylie Minogue. He also had a number one hit with the song “Any Dream Will Do” from Joseph.
